We have closed the Silver Spring Honfleur Home store that was co-located
with Marimekko. We are working to identify another space in which to
represent our beautiful products. In addition, we are hoping to resume
our sewing, quilting, and art classes. If you wish to be notified when

Honfleur Home™ features a contemporary collection of items that
feel good to the touch, please the eye and ear, and showcase the very
best in accessibly priced and highly polished design. We are a source
for goods and handicrafts not carried by major retailers, including
fabric, yarn, clothing and loungewear, linens, housewares, original
artwork, and award-winning children's toys and books. Honfleur™
is the reinvented version of the store that used to be right around
the corner. The one where you'd go just to poke around and where the
smell of a good cup of joe hung in the air. The place where the proprietors
cared about earning your business (even though its since become a Starbucks)
and the one where everybody knew your name (okay, wait -- no, that's
not us, that's the bar, and it's still there).
Our store is a safe-haven for those in search of that special something,
that something that feels good to the touch and stands on its own merits.
We invite you to consider us when you've concluded that while choice
is a good thing, it's simply headache inducing to navigate online sites
that have endless categories of "stuff" alongside affiliates who also
offer "stuff" (used? new? what is that exactly?). When you can't make
it to specialty stores before five and when wandering chain stores isn't
productive or fun. And especially when you need a gift for a good friend
and day-of-the-week underwear won't do.
Whether for yourself or someone else, we deliver the hard-to-find without
compromising on presentation, convenience, or style. Our gift orders
are beautifully presented and shipped, and we pledge never to toss a
lovely item that is still in its shrink-wrap into a box and declare
it memorable. We ship worldwide have accurate
sizing charts for the clothing and linens we carry, and can tell you
anything you may wish to know about the item that you are contemplating.
. . . A Word About Our Name
For those of you curious about the genesis of our store's name,
we'd like you to know that Honfleur Home holds three distinct meanings
for us. First, it is a positively beautiful haven in Normandy, France
- an oasis pure and simple that is located on the Seine and home to
many painters, writers, and musicians. Second, for those of us still
inspired by and mindful of the courage and sacrifice associated with
the landings at Normandy, the name Honfleur will conjure a particular
type of meaning. Finally, our founders simply loved the sound of the
word in and of itself. Though our name may be imported from France,
our store is decidedly a reflection of the value of freedom and opportunity in this country.
Placing Your Order
Ordering online is simple and secure. You will be free from
all surprise online purchasing hassles, including pop-up ads, demographic
data sharing, and auto-email subscription lists. Our selections ship
by trackable media within three days of order receipt unless otherwise
noted in our product description. We respect the privacy of our customers
and do not share information with outside parties nor do we store billing
data on any of our servers. We ship worldwide
at competitive rates and accept all major credit cards as well as Pay
Pal and checks.

What We Support
A set portion of proceeds from our stores are earmarked for programs
in the arts and education. Examples of the entities to which we direct
proceeds include The Levine School of Music, The American Film Institute,
and The Duke Ellington School for The Arts. Our community involvement
and support includes scholarships for children to attend music school;
funding to promote literacy initiatives; lectures and interactive talks
by Washington, DC area speakers, artists, and musicians who both inspire
and represent the spectrum of professions. If you're interested in speaking

Something Different
If you are an artist, designer, musician, or author who has
an existing portfolio or completed work that is distinctive and merits
distribution, please submit an expression
of interest. We handle publicity, public outreach, and product exposure
through distribution, agent representatiion, and patron relationships.
Vendor Inquiries
A portion of our e-commerce site is set aside to represent new
product launches that are being brought to market and complement our core offering.
If you're interested in potentially seeing your product represented on the Honfleur Home website, please send an
expression of interest and include digital images of your work. While we cannot reply
to every inquiry we receive, we will promptly reply to those that we
wish to assess.
